The WVROCKS administrative team is made of professionals trained and experienced in academic affairs, curriculum and instruction, computer science, instructional design, online teaching and learning, data analytics, and business management.
Lucy Kefauver
Director of Online Learning
Lucy Kefauver is the Director of Online Learning at the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission. Previously she was the Director of Distance Education at West Liberty University. During her career in higher education, she has worked in both student services and academic affairs and written and managed state and federal grants.
She holds a BS in management and MAs in both Communication Studies with a focus on Instructional Communication and in Instructional Design and Technology, and an EdS in Curriculum and Instruction. She has four grown children, a daughter-in-law, a granddaughter, a grandson, likes to read, take photos, and travel. She has recently developed an interest in Real Estate investing and is supervised by her two dogs, Finn and Greenlee.
Alex Keefover
Instructional Designer
Alex lives in his hometown of Pleasent Valley, W.V. As the instructional designer for WVROCKS, his primary duty is to work with instructors to design, build, and revise courses. He also helps manage technology systems, assists in implementing students' accommodations, provides technical support through the helpdesk, and assists in the onboarding process of new instructors. His favorite part of his job is creating engaging and fun learning experiences for students. He holds a B.S. with a major in Mathematics and a minor in Computer Science, as well as an M.Ed. majoring in Digital Media, New Literacies & Learning. Currently, he is working on an Ed.D in Instructional Design & Technology. When he is not working or studying, he enjoys playing with his retired service dog, watching t.v., hanging out with friends & family, and playing video games.
Suma Ponnam
Information Specialist
Suma was born and raised in India, lived in Atlanta and in the Pacific Northwest, before moving to Morgantown. Suma has a Master’s in computer science and is experienced in analytics, collecting, storing, and analyzing large data.
Suma enjoys multitasking and working with multidisciplinary teams. She actively volunteers and teaches children in the local community. In her free time, she enjoys reading, traveling, and exploring the WV trails with her family.
